4.    Elements
a.    Intentional or reckless
i.  Transferred intent does NOT apply
b.    Outrageous and extreme conduct – one would exclaim “Outrageous!”
i.  Words alone are sufficient to give rise to IIED if all other elements are present (Daughter was killed in World Trade Center)
ii.   Liability does not extend to “mere insult”
c.    Causes severe emotional distress
i.  Victims may be direct or indirect/bystander present or at least foreseeably harmed by the conduct
ii.   Public figures – difficult to state claim for damages
d.    Bodily harm may result from the distress.  If bodily harm arises, then also liable for
that bodily harm
