Ethical Responsibilities
1.    When you interact with PTO, ex parte (just you and PTO) so you have ethical responsibilities above and beyond normal interactions.
2.    If you have access to prior art, if reasonable examiner might think it is important, must bring it forward even if you don’t think it blocks you. Only intentional things will get L in trouble, not small mistakes. Must be material – something reasonable examiner deems important.
3.    Ex: App filed in 3 countries. One country digs up hurtful prior art. Must then call it to attention of every other office. Harsh penalty if you don’t, void patent. If patent is already issued, don’t have to do reissue.
