The issue was whether there was a contract
that modifies Texas’s at-will employment doctrine. The court held that either a written or oral contract containing specific limiting disciplinary procedural requirements which obviated application of TX at-will employment doctrine existed, AND that the employer lacked good cause for discharging the employee for allegedly submitting false expense vouchers for relocation of an automobile not yet moved.
